SKRC Strengthens Ties with Middle Technical University
In a significant step towards enhancing research and academic collaboration, the Swedish Knowledge & Research Center (SKRC) recently visited Middle Technical University (MTU) in Baghdad. The meeting, attended by MTU President Prof. Dr. Wadhah Amer Hatem Al Tamimi, Assistant Professors, and the head of the Water Resources Technologies Department, Assistant Professor Muntaser Abdul Hamid, marked the beginning of a promising partnership between the two institutions.
Dr. Eng. Azmi Al-Eesa, CEO of SKRC, led the discussions focusing on the multifaceted benefits of this collaboration. Key points included the provision of advanced training for MTU staff, the integration of new technologies into the university's curriculum, and joint supervision of graduate research. The partnership aims to enhance the academic and professional skills of MTU's faculty and students, ensuring they remain at the forefront of their respective fields.
Both parties expressed their commitment to developing specialized training courses for MTU’s senior staff, heads of units, and departments. These courses are designed to foster comprehensive integration and operational efficiency, thereby achieving the strategic goals of both SKRC and MTU.
The meeting also explored potential cooperation with SCAND EXPERTS HUB in the field of engineering consultancy. This collaboration could position SCAND as one of the approved companies by the Ministry, pending the introduction of specific legislation.
Prof. Dr. Wadhah Amer Hatem Al Tamimi expressed his satisfaction with the discussions and emphasized the importance of swift implementation, avoiding bureaucratic delays. Dr. Eng. Azmi Al-Eesa praised MTU's leadership and their shared vision of elevating the university to international standards.
